THE HISTORY OF RECHNITZ
|
The
Rechnitz Foundation was born over a millennium ago when the Alte
(Ego) Rebbe (Zecher Letzias Mitzrayim) was growing up in
Buchoslavia (located in Southern Austria, see- www.rechnitz.com)
The Rebbes that followed (rather than led) performed many
miracles some of which actually worked. Their reputation spread
far and thin as people began to learn of their wonders. Then
they started wondering themselves.
Rechnitz is unafraid to highlight and parody the absurd moments
in today's Jewish life.
As misguided souls take certain matters to the extreme, Rechnitz
is there to pounce on the meshugassen.
The Rechnitzer Rebbe (zl"m) has support from his wife,
Plucho, brother-in-law, Yosheke Miboines, Gabbai Getzel Chabinyo,
Arranger Muchi Yotzenpress, Chazan Manish Yosselowitz, Chassidim
Selig Potzenfeier, Botul Nosebleeder, Hamish Pendrik to name but
a few in the Witness Protection Program.
Sefer Rechnitz is being written and will include Maases Shekimat
Hoya, Kavono Testing, Halacha KeBubbba Maaseh and much more.
Rechnitz have special minhagim which will be quoted over time on
this website.
These minhagim (Customs) are flexible.
Figuring prominently in the Rechnitz Organization is the
issue of money. Fundraising is an occupation and preoccupation
of Rechnitz. The Rebbe, who has not been sighted in years, is
constantly traveling in order to collect.
In 1982, Rechnitzer Rejects Volume 1 released with "Boro Park"
(to the tune of New York, New York) written by Chazan Seymour
Rockoff. He went on to write many brilliant songs including
"Cold Chopped Liver" (Old Man River) and Bills (Belz) It became
an immediate best-seller spawning another 8 CDs released by
Sameach Music. The Rebbe has now just released Rechnitzer
Rejects Volume 9, distributed by Aderet Music Corps.
Registered Chassidim connect and correspond with similar minded
Chassidim in celebration of Rechnitz.
There are 2 videos currently in revised production. The
first is The Rechnitz Olympics recorded over 30 years ago in the
UK courtesy of Velvel Weisz and family. The second clip is Bnei
Brak Bnei Brak the Hebrew parody of NY NY.
Rechnitz is a growing phenomenon fastest growing Chassidic
dynasty in Iowa and we welcome suggestions from Chassidim,
actual and imagined. You can E-Mail The Rebbe at
